Yes. At last! In today's 'Ganashakti' - CPI(M)'s party daily, it's propaganda organ, they have admitted to have committed a 'land-grabbing' in Singur. And that too following the directives of the imperial Land Acquisition Act - 1894.

"In reality, there is no necessity to get any consent from the proprietor of the land. The administration is therefore, not legally bound to give even any kind of compensation to the people. It is rather the highest duty of the farmers to forfeit their holdings, voluntarily, for the greater interest of the public."

However, the pro-poor left administration is kind enough to have agreed to such a generous compensation package! The farmers of Bengal should be grateful to the agents of the national and global capital as they didn't have to fall to the real bullets such as those shot at the tribals in Kalinganagar, Orissa, in a similar kind of land grabbing incident.

They are saying that the preparation of the full list is under way. This is amazing! The full land has been taken over without knowing fully to whom it belonged.

However, we should not fail to appreciate that CP(I)M has at last admitted to the truth and succumbed to the people's pressure and, very soon, will fully understand the price they have to pay for their several miscarriages yet to come up.
